Vulvatorious weave together a variety of metal threads in their bleak, aggressive and sludgy music, dying the sonic fabric all black – you’ll find crust-punk, thrash and black metal in there. In 2024 they played at Copenhell and Roskilde Festival and released their critically acclaimed self-titled album. In 2025 they continued their mission at Copenhell’s Hades stage.
Song titles such as “CUNT WAR” and “WITCH BURNS BACK” – written in capital letters – Vulvatorious fights misogyny and abuse and incite rebellion in a way you won’t misunderstand. It's bloody, painful and intense – also when Ditte Krøyer growls and hisses over sorrow, loss and longing, which shines through the cracks in songslike “Mormors sang” (Grandma’s Song) and “Farvel. Jeg går”.
Vulvatorious is based in Copenhagen, Denmark and was formed in 2020 by Ditte Krøyer (vocals), Sofie Angen (guitar) and Signe Kirkegaard (guitar). In 2021 the band was accompagnied by Rasmus Aarslev Johansen (drums) and Florent Besson (bass). The group was completed in 2025 with the 6th member William Brøchner Søndergaard (guitar).
